TAG is pleased to announce the return of Torontos Jennifer Febbraro along with new-to-Nashville artist Frank Murphy. This exhibit represents some of the most stunning works by self-taught artists. Below you will find a little something about both of these talented painters.
JENNIFER FEBBRARO Jennifer was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario in 1972. She became a self-taught artist just after receiving her masters degree in philosophy in 1993, encouraged initially by her friend and mentor, the late Lon Duva.
Jennifer calls her paintings autobiographical landscapes, and is inspired by and so attempts to reflect various dimensions of choreography, film, music, and literature. Her favourite painter is Paula Rego.
FRANK MURPHY Born in Northwest Arkansas, Frank Murphy did not begin painting full-time until after retirement. His primary influences continue to be his family farm and the life surrounding it. Currently, he divides his time between his family farm in Arkansas and rural Georgia.
Using a combination of layering acrylic and wax, the majority of his works feature horses in motion. He introduced the Horse Series in 2001, which has been tremendously successful. His works are included in corporate collections as well as numerous private collections.
